A new podcast episode produced within the Nordic Youth Media Lab<\/strong> project explores how young people navigate today\u2019s rapidly changing digital media environment.<\/div>\n

The discussion is hosted by Triin Roos<\/strong>, youth policy expert and former Chief Executive Officer of the Estonian National Youth Council. She is joined by German Morris<\/strong>, student, youth leader and project coordinator; Gregor Mataloja<\/strong>, Tallinn University student and Chair of the NGO Meelte Kindlus; and Sebastian Rock<\/strong>, student and Chair of UNA Estonia.<\/p>\n

Together, they discuss why younger audiences increasingly trust influencers over traditional media, how short-form content on TikTok and Instagram Reels captures attention, and how social media algorithms can create echo chambers and online \u201crabbit holes.\u201d The episode also examines the psychology of online trust, misinformation, fact-checking, and the role of education and civil society in strengthening young people\u2019s media literacy.<\/p>\n

The podcast contributes to the development of a practical digital media learning programme created through a co-creation approach<\/strong>, involving young people, educators, youth workers and experts. The programme covers media and information literacy, artificial intelligence, digital ethics, safe online behaviour, podcast and video production, digital campaigns and democratic participation.<\/p>\n
